NITI Aayog

NITI AAYOG (National Institution for Transforming India):

The NITI Aayog, is a think tank of the Government of India, established on 1 January 2015 as are placement for the Planning Commission. The Prime Minister serves as the Ex-officio chairman, and the first meeting of NITI Aayog was chaired by Narendra Modi on February 8, 2015.

NITI Aayog has replaced the previous Planning Commissions Of India

The Main Objectives of NITI Aayog:

  • An administration paradigm in which the Government is an "enabler" rather than a "provider of first and last resort"
  • Progress from "food security" to focus on a mix of agricultural production, as well as actual returns that farmers get from their produce
  • Ensure that India is an active player in the debates and deliberations on the global commons
